In your relationships you surely have your own priorities. What is most important to you? Is it yourself, your spouse, your children, your family, friends, your job or God? Deep down within you know. The stability and success of your relationship depends on your priorities.

If your priorities are based on fleeting subjects and objectives so  shall the success of your relationship be. On the contrary however, when your life values are richer than material gains; when you seek after other people’s interests alongside your own; when Christ is at the centre of your life; then you are into a pure relationship which would stand the test of time and turbulence.

When truly Christ rules in your life, your mind would have been renewed and made loving by the power of his presence and counsel. You would not be spared the challenges and storms of life, but you will be given wisdom, grace and poise to overcome. When you and your spouse begin to operate at the same foundation your situation would be more controlable and your ways more navigable.

God said: I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go. I will  guide you with my eye. Psalms 32: 8.

The word of the LORD is the mind and will of God. Through the word as revealed in the Bible we are saved by the mercy of God through faith. It is his words that tell us that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross; And that he was buried. It tells us that Christ arose from the  grave on the third day.

Furthermore, it tells us that if you  confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day, you shall be saved.

With the heart you believe and you are justified. With your mouth you confess and you are saved. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved. Romans 10: 9-13.

Having this basic foundation at the start of your relationship makes success attainable. It is a bigger relationship which enhances your lesser relationship.

Each person compulsorily has to build upon the foundation. It is the same word of God which is able to renew our minds. By that the great counsel of God is accessible and this  helps us to know the will of God.

Knowing the will of God is one thing but doing the same is yet another. When we know and do the will of God we are the better and happier for it.

The Bible says: I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, whigh is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. Romans 12: 1-2.

Thus God is pleased; and He blesses us because we please Him and keep doing so. God honours His word more than He does His name. Anyone who honours God’s word through obedience places himself in strategic position to be blessed by God.

Relationship with God is the best of relationships. God is always giving all the time. Anyone who loves himself would never indulge in ignoring God and fail to appreciate the benevolence and magnanimity of this divine generosity. Relationship with God is not a matter of debate or scientific analysis. It is the only true and lasting relationship. It is experiential, real, unending and selfless. Jesus Christ makes it real. It is based on love at its best. If you would, you may start to experience this choicest of relationships today. Invite Jesus into your life, if you have not done so already. If you have or when you do, keep it hot, trusting in the grace of God to help you through. For God loved this world so much that he gave his Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins on the cross; that whosoever believes in Jesus shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send Jesus into this world to condemn it, but to save it (and that includes you and us) John 3:16-17. Make relationship with God the strength, the basis and the spring board for all your other relationships. God bless you.
