FROM PARENTS TO CHILDREN

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The training demands faithful persistence. You do so daily; moment by moment. You do when convenient and when not so convenient. The importance of the training makes it so mandatory that you cannot afford to be complacent about it. You look forward to the ultimate goal of the expected pleasant result. You are laying up a solid foundation that would continue into a solid structure which is capable of withstanding present and future challenges of life. A good individual with a strong moral character is the outcome. An adult, capable of withstanding the challenges of life and overcoming emerges. Therefore, keep at it. Do not give up nor look back. Grace be with you.

DAILY NUGGETS

The sick needs healing. The bereaved or lonely needs comfort, support and encouragement. The fearful and the oppressed need deliverance, courage and faith in God. Jesus Christ is strong and able to meet all of these needs, and much more.

When you and your family wonder why your loved one should die or become bedfast as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic or get agitated because of the lockdown; Stop. Look up to God. Call upon Him. Tell Him all of your problems. The LORD God, who is rich in mercies shall answer you and come to the rescue. There is healing in the blood of Jesus. There is healing in the mighty name of Jesus. The bereaved needs comfort: Jesus said: Let not your heart be troubled: You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you; I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3.

For the Christians who have physically lost relations or friends, be comforted in the words of Jesus. He said further: I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in me, shall never die. Do you believe this? John 11: 25-26. Jesus said these words at Bethany, where he responded to the call of Mary and Martha, who earlier sent for Him while their brother Lazarus was very sick. Lazarus had died before Jesus arrived in the town. Jesus went ahead to the tomb of Lazarus and called him from the dead; on his fourth day in the tomb, already decomposing and stinking! Remarkably, Lazarus came out alive, walking, with the grave clothing wrapped around him. Jesus commanded that the men around should loose him, free to go; fully restored back to life. What a miracle!

Nothing is too hard for Jesus, who is the Author and the Prince of life. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except by me. John 14:6. When a Christian dies, it is not over or finished for him or her. The spirit goes to God the Maker. His body which housed the spirit and soul had died and gets buried or cremated. In addition, believers who die have only gone to rest in anticipation of the glorious Resurrection morning. That is when we who are alive shall be transformed with new bodies to meet those saints who died recently and long time ago, in the air; as Jesus Christ shows up in the skies to gather us to Himself. Thenceforth, we shall be with Jesus and be also reunited with our departed ones. Therefore, we should not be sad and discouraged like the hopeless ones. Let this great assurance comfort us. 1 Thess. 4: 13-18. Cheer up! Look at these comforting words in 1Corinthians 15:51-53: Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, vs 52 – In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. vs 53 – For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.

At the resurrection, our new bodies, our sanctified souls and our saved spirits shall unite. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thess. 5:23. At the first Resurrection; the body is raised from the dead or renewed or shall we say, transformed.

The living Christian would not taste physical death. The body shall be united with the spirit and soul. Brethren, please cheer up and be comforted. The weary, hungry, thirsty, oppressed, cheated, harassed or lost have hope and deliverance through Jesus. He also said: Come unto me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11: 28. This is a great exchange. You drop your burdens with Jesus, while Jesus gives you his peace and solutions in exchange. He offers relief and solution to your heartfelt problems and needs. Come, just as you are. Come trusting. Come believing. Come now. Call upon Him. He shall answer you. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13.

DAILY NUGGETS

In Mark 5:30 we read about Jesus Christ, turning around in the midst of the crowd to ask the question; “Who touched me?” Such a question was strange, if not shocking, to his accompanying disciples.
However, Jesus Christ understood why he asked the question. He explained that he knew the reason why. He said: “For virtue has gone out of me.”
The woman who was afflicted with bleeding for twelve years secretly thought and acted amidst the crowd to touch the helm of the clothes of Jesus. She exercised strong faith of touching Jesus’s clothing in order for herself to be healed. She had said within her that; “If I may only touch the helm of his garments, I shall be made whole.” Truly, she touched Jesus; and she received healing instantly.

God calls out to the whole family of mankind to look up to Him. This is another period in human history that we all need God’s merciful intervention and deliverance from the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Mankind has carelessly brought avoidable human disaster upon the world. Selfishness, pride, greed, arrogance and unthinkable wickedness in individuals, groups and governments have brought about this nagging agent of death. Cooperation, humility and selflessness can bring about the needed change, healing and victory.

God can make this to happen when we seek Him and humbly surrender to Him. He said: Look unto me all the ends of the earth and be ye saved. For I am God and there is none else.
God also said:
“Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”
Jeremiah 33:3.
The perfect remedy for mankind is in humbly seeking after God. The LORD God of creation knows all things. He can do all things. Nothing is too hard for him. God’s blessings be upon you and your entire family and nation.

All Power Belong To The LORD God.

Inspite of all the ravaging disease and deaths, the LORD God is still in control of the whole world. He is a merciful God. He loves the whole world. He loves mankind whom He created. God will give us a way out of this agent of death. Having failed so many times before and on this ocassion, it is not too late to cry out and look up to God for merciful deliverance.

To the numerous families across the globe which have been bereaved, we send heartfelt condolences. May the LORD God comfort you all during these challenging times of mourning. May you experience in ways greater than before, the powerful refreshing presence of the Holy Spirit of God. Amen.

The LORD God is greater than all. He is greater than our collective failures. God is greater than all of our collective fears and anxieties. He is greater than all of our collective achievements in all fields of human endeavours. Of course, the reason for that is due to the fact that He is the source of true wisdom and knowledge.

At this juncture in human history, man has misfired. Mankind has lost his way again. Mankind is not being open enough with one another. There is race or competition for economic, technological and political supremacy among the top class nations of this world. God is watching us all, even as the blame game and buck-passing goes on.

It is written: If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask from God. God would grant him wisdom joyfully, provided it is for a good purpose. Individuals should ask for wisdom. Leaders of governments across the globe should ask for wisdom. Scientists should ask for wisdom. Frontline Health, Security and Essential Services workers should ask for wisdom. Others who form the overwhelming majority of the populace should also ask for wisdom. God would bless us all with great answers for effective solution in our messed up world.

The old time-tested message comes to all; to the young and old. It comes to the leadership and the followership; to the rich, poor, noble and peasant.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon Him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7.

God Almighty said: Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. Romans 10:13.

Let the whole world seek God now. He will answer us and rescue us. In these days of challenging complexities in human behaviour and governance, we need God to help us. He is waiting and eager to come to our rescue. Let human pride, stubbornness and arrogance be subdued by humility. Let us seek God now. God bless you.
