THE PHILIPPINES AND HER PEOPLE NEED YOU NOW!

The unprecedented disaster caused by the typhoon named ‘Haiyan’ in the Philippines on Friday, 8th November 2013 has affected up to 10 million people. About 2,500 people suspected to have died. The United Nations stated that the death toll could rise. We send our condolence to the government and people of Philippines. Food, Water, Clothes, Shelter, Towels, Blankets, medical supplies, plus strong and healthy volunteers are urgently needed. The need is huge. The citizens are greatly tough and resilient, but there is a limit to such human endurance. The geographical setting made up of a group of several islands, compounds the problems especially in the worst hit areas of TACLOBAN CITY and CEBU ISLAND to mention a few. Please, do your best to give support within the limits of your ability and resources. You can give as low as £3.00 and up to hundreds or thousands of pounds, via your credit/debit cards or cheques. Active relief programme is already slowly coming in from different parts of the world. The UK Government is already setting a good pace in the on-going urgent humanitarian relief efforts. The same is true of the USA government. More nations are expected to respond very soon. In the United Kingdom you can send relief support through the DISASTERS EMERGENCY COMMITTEE made up of 14 British Charities. You can route your support direct to DEC Philippines Typhoon Appeal or any of its member charities which are autonomous. Visit DEC site : http://www.dec.org.uk.
