It is almost unbelievable that a group of irresponsible people under the name of Boko Haram could continue to hold the entirety of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Armed Forces to ransom for so long! The killings of several people in Jos, Maiduguri, Yobe and Borno States are shocking and very sad. Destructions of Church buildings and killings of Christians in the North; the bombing of Police headquarters in Abuja and the bombing of the United Nations Headquarters in Abuja, are part of the atrrocities committed by these miscreants. Several Churches and Mosques(but more churches than mosques) have been destroyed. Several lives have been lost without any justifiable reason.Threats are being issued to displace and destabilize more innocent, law-abiding citizens. What is the Federal government up to in stopping these unpatriotic, uncivilized, blood-letting and blood-sucking criminals and ruffians, called Boko Haram? All responsible Nigerians, who form the overwhelming majority, know that given the right directives, the Police and Armed Forces are more than enough to uproot these miscreants from their base, nullify their operations and give deserving peace and true freedom to all Nigerians in any part of the country. Why then are these menace and carnage allowed to persist for this long? Between 2002 and 2012, Boko Haram and its collaborators have brought untold pains, losses, anguish and sorrow to Nigerians, while the government continues to fail in its constitutional responsibilities to protect the lives and properties of the citizens it pledged to protect. The Federal Government should no longer play hide-and-seek with Boko Haram, but deal appropriate blows to counteract and incapacitate the useless group. The government should not scare investors by apparent inadequate control. Nobody has the right to take the life of his/her fellow human being, equally created by GOD! God said: You must not kill another human being! God loves all the members of Boko Haram, but hates all of their acts of terrorism! They must REPENT. The carnage must stop. Enough is enough! Plaguing Nigeria alongside acts of terrorism by Boko Haram, is the current crisis on fuel subsidy. Any realistic, logically-minded person knows that the degree of fuel subsidy which had been in place for decades in Nigeria,is simply ridiculous, too much and unreasonable! However, successive governments have not been reasonable enough to give sensible priority to Fuel and Related Issues. Why, in this modern world, should the refineries in the South and North not be functional enough to meet the domestic needs of Nigerians? I do not have accurate figures; but why, in the first instance, should the government buy a product, say hypothetically for 100Naira and sell it to the masses for 30Naira?That has been and still is ECONOMIC NON-SENSE.Why must the nation have to import refined petroleum products when there should be functional refineries? Now that the government plans to remove fuel subsidy, what would the government do with the gains accruing from the removal of the subsidy?Shall the life of the average Nigerian be improved?Would those in the corridors of power use the gains to enrich their own pockets? It is simply unfair to undermine and exploit the masses and the electorate. What happened to COCOA?What happened to OIL PALM PRODUCE? What happened to GROUNDNUTS? What happened to KOLANUTS?What is the hope of the AVERAGE FARMER in Nigeria today? How buoyant are the traditional CRAFTS INDUSTRIES? We should not to be too dependent on PETROLEUM. With the removal of fuel subsidy, is the government going to bring any special relief to the masses? Would there be uninterupted energy supplies? Would there be better, well-maintained roads? Would there be more jobs created in the private sector? Granted that government workers may be given salary rises, what becomes of those in the private sector, who form the overwhelming majority? How would inflation be minimized or controlled? The 2012 Appropriation Bill is still before the Legislature (Houses of Representative and Senate). The exorbitant figures in the Bill are there for all Nigerians to see.Nigeria is blessed with enough economists, technocrats and administrators to sort out positive way forward. Delay is very dangerous. Time is too expensive to be wasted in deliberating on selfish, irrelevant issues. Righteousness exalteth a nation:but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). Also it is written: When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn (Proverbs 29:2).Our leaders should repent!GOD ALMIGHTY is on the side of the down-trodden masses. He has spoken and He is yet speaking!GOD BLESS NIGERIA. AMEN.
