The Spirit helps our weakness; for ordinarily, we do not know how to pray adequately and perfectly in the way to please God. When the Holy Spirit takes control He helps us to overcome all weaknesses and pray to obtain positive results from God. This is expressed in Romans 8:26-27. There are many times when we cannot find adequate words to express or innermost feelings, but the Holy Spirit by means of groaning lifts our spirits up to a higher level in order to communicate effectively with God our Father. Many times too the Holy Spirit gives us a special language, different from common knowledge, with which to express ourselves in the presence of God as we pray. Such prayers are very quick to obtain results, mainly because God by his Spirit helped us to communicate with himself. This gives us inward peace, joy, well-being, comfort, confidence and boldness to face our daily routine or tasks. The groaning is a means of accessing the various gifts to be exercised as the need arises domestically or corporately in the midst of Christians in fellowship or meeting. Praying and speaking in tongues is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This gift is one of the most controversial, but this need not be so. When the Holy Spirit comes into a person’s life he comes with all of his powers, gifts and favours. Potentially therefore, a believer has all of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. The gift of tongues and the interpretation of tongues often go together. Basically, every person baptized in the Holy Ghost is able to speak in tongues. There is no need for argument over the gifts of the Holy Spirit, causing avoidable unnecessary conflicts. Jesus said it all, when he said that if we who are relatively and in comparison to God evil. yet when our children ask for bread, we do not give them stone. If they ask for fish , we do not give them snake ; or if they ask for egg, we do not give them scorpion. Certainly, we do give good gifts to our children. How much more would God, our Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask from him. Relax! Ask from God and you shall be given; not the gifts, but the giver of the gifts, who is the Holy Spirit himself! There is a baptism with the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist testified that Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Ghost and with fire! Ask! We shall continue next week.

I found this piece on the Holy Spirit very encouraging. Thank God for His love and for leaving us His Holy Spirit to readily access Him at all times. He is a Good God!
