DAILY MEDITATION: ‘Thinking with you’

1 John 5:13-15 – ”I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of him”.This is written so that we may know; written so that we may be sure; written so that we may have no iota of doubt in our minds. God has forgiven us  and has canceled our sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. God has done for us the greatest; He has given us Eternal life. Can he ever deny us the relatively smaller things of life? Certainly not. When we need to ask something from God, it is always good to know his mind before asking him. We know God’s mind from his written will, the Bible; the Old and the New Wills called TESTAMENTS! When we ask God in accordance with his will he must answer us if our minds are right with him; that is if we trust him to do as he has promised. God shows great respect for his written as well as spoken words. The written words are in the Bible and he sometimes gives out the spoken words through his servants , the prophets. The days of the prophets are not yet over, my friend.  God said:” ….. I am the LORD that healeth thee”(Exodus 15:26). God made this promised to the Israelites based upon their obedience, promising to heal them and above all, keep them well. The prophet Isaiah, prophesying about the Messiah, Jesus Christ said: ”But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53: 5) NIV.  When Jesus came , he did all that Isaiah prophesied. Reflecting on that, the Apostle Peter said:”He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wound you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24). From these portions of the Bible as well as an overwhelming references backed up by proofs of personal, individual experiences, we are very sure God has made provision for our healing as well as our health. This is one of many aspects of life that the good LORD has made provision for. The salvation secured for us by Jesus Christ is a comprehensive one which touches our lives, bodily, socially, intellectually, morally and spiritually; our homes totally domestically, our pockets financially, our jobs or vocations professionally and even the totality of all we do and are. When we pray to God according to his will or ask from him some help, direction or blessing, we have the assurance that we are given what we have asked for. God would never go back or fail concerning his promises over our lives. What God says he would do he must surely do. We must ask him trusting that he would never fail us.
